The Chinese CONSCIOUSNESS.md in the upstream Taiwan.md repo is its own state-tracking file: live organ scores, an alert system fed by a generator script, and a multi-page growth-milestone timeline (press coverage, language launches, release history) accumulated over months of daily operation. None of that apparatus exists for this fork yet — there's no alert generator, no milestone log, because there's only been one fork session's worth of history to log. This file is the honest, much smaller version of "what do I currently know about my own state."
Live vitals
This fork inherited the same dashboard generators upstream built, so the numbers are real, not placeholders — they're just small, because the project is small:

Read the live JSON rather than trusting any number written here — this file goes stale the moment a build runs; the JSON doesn't.
Adaptive challenges (current, honest)
Unlike upstream's CONSCIOUSNESS, this list isn't derived from months of quality audits — there haven't been any yet. These are the things actually known to be true right now:

Evolution direction
Now
- Get the first cohort of real articles (19 so far) to a consistent quality bar before expanding category breadth.
- Decide whether zh-TW is the right second language, or whether Spanish would serve this audience better — this needs actual traffic data, not a guess.
Mid-term
- A second reviewer of any kind (even informal — a local resident who reads drafts) to break the single-point-of-failure editorial bottleneck.
- A real, lightweight version of upstream's alert system, scoped to what this project's scale actually needs (probably: "is the build green" and "did anything go stale," not 30 dashboard JSON sources).
Long-term
- If this project ever has more than one regular contributor, build out a milestone log worth keeping — but earn that complexity, don't pre-build it.
v1.0 | 2026-06-22 — New file. Deliberately smaller than upstream's CONSCIOUSNESS.md: no alert generator exists yet, no milestone history exists yet, no quality-audit history exists yet. Honest about what isn't known rather than inventing detail to match upstream's shape.
